In October 2012, our family was able to partner with CCA in the education of our then-5th grade son. Little did I know that God had such big plans for us, greater then Jake’s academic journey, which has in itself been an incredible one.
During Jake’s 7th grade year, I was invited to come on staff part-time as a lunch monitor. At the time, I was volunteering as a CASA volunteer with Collin County and was thankful for the chance to do both. Each year since, I’ve been trusted with more responsibilities with students at CCA and I currently teach 4th/5th grade Praise and Production, 6th grade Praise and Production, 6th grade Bible and this year I was the faculty sponsor for Cheer. I am overwhelmed at God’s kindness to me by opening these doors to work with our students. Children are truly a gift from the Lord and our inheritance. Our son Jake is currently a second semester Junior and God continues to be faithful by offering me more opportunities to serve through CCA.
The mission trip to Costa Rica quickens my heart for so many reasons. Sharing the Gospel is a desire that grows more in me each day. Since the beginning of my Christian walk over 10 years ago, I haven’t had an opportunity to take a mission trip. I am incredibly thankful to have the responsibilities of a wife and mother, and with those duties, I have been content with my backyard mission field in Collin County. When the opportunity arose to serve on a mission trip with CCA, I praised God and prayed that it would be something I could be part of.
Acts 1:8 says “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
My hope is that this will be my chance to venture out of Jerusalem and take steps towards Judea, Samaria and the ends of the earth.
Thank you for your consideration of supporting our trip to Costa Rica. I trust that even with the humblest offering from the kindness of the saints, the Lord will do much.
Latin America, though very religious, has a desperate need for a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Like many modernized countries, Costa Rica is currently experiencing a bombardment of cultural and moral relativism that is strangling their youth from the liberating news of Jesus' saving work on the cross.
CCA Summer Mission 2019 will use several strategies to reach vulnerable populations, specifically the youth and oppressed women, with the Biblical Gospel. CCA students and family members will work hand in hand with native ministry leaders to engage in authentic mission opportunities with the hope of leaving a lasting and significant contribution in the Kingdom of God.
Your support of this team will help CCA build a solid missions program that will train and prepare adept servants of Christ in the generations to come. We are asking you to partner with us as we take hold of what the Lord has for the school community and for the people of Costa Rica and Latin America.
